Bush's new plan
An article in the Statesman (here) reported that President Bush has set a new target for stopping growth of US greenhouse emissions by 2025. Many in the scientific community have obviously maintained this initiative is too little too late to prevent disastrous climate change. At least Bush is now acknowledging climate change as a problem. Bush has indicated that best way to begin reducing emissions is by focusing on the nation's power plants, which are responsible for 40% of the nation's emissions. Yet, the article indicates that Bush's proposals are merely an attempt to derail more serious climate change initiatives. Additionally, it seems to me to make significant progress in addressing greenhouse gases, reducing vehicle emissions needs to be an equal priority.
